The lotus flower functions as a symbol of the path to infinite spiritual enlightenment.

In Buddhism, the lotus flower represents self-realization and to encourage people to dare to face challenges. The blooming lotus represents our mind connected to our consciousness.

Spiritual development
In order to achieve higher states of consciousness, one should first undergo and understand the meaning behind difficult mental and physical experiences that many times life puts us through. In the same way that the lotus flower has to overcome obstacles in order to blossom, the human consciousness also has to go through difficulties before it can reach enlightenment.

A sacred flower
The lotus flower has a strong connection to the spiritual world and is considered sacred by many cultures and people in the world. In Egyptian mythology, the lotus flower was considered to represent the (re)birth of the sun, as it blooms during the day and closes at night. In Hindu culture, gods and goddesses are said to sit on lotus thrones. In Buddhist thought, the lotus flower serves as the seat or throne of Buddhas, and indicates divine birth.
It represents purity, acceptance, forgiveness and cosmic love and is the subject of many Buddhist meditations.
I have learned this meditation from a Tibetan lama in connection with learning the Qigong of the Tibetan Morning Greeting and it has become one of my favorite meditations.
Over the years it has given me strength, hope and inner peace of mind, so I want to share this fantastic tool with you.
